Bruce Peninsula Pregnancy, Prenatal Massage Practitioner
Congratulations on your Great News! The Prenatal Massage we provide for woman in the Bruce Peninsula region brings incredible relaxation and natural pain relief. At this special time in your life, treat yourself and your baby to a pregnancy massage. As a specially trained Practitioner in prenatal and postnatal care, we use extraordinary pregnancy ‘body cushions’ to allow expectant moms to experience back massage in a face-down position. The ability of these cushions to grow with you during your pregnancy enables massage to counteract muscular aches and pains along the spine during the duration of your pregnancy. These body cushions also allow massage in the side-laying position which is particularly effective in the 2nd trimester. Being able to comfortably support the body while laying on your side, especially in later stages of your pregnancy, allows for a full body massage that leaves both Mother-to-be and baby lulled into a state of relaxation
Utilizing specific stretches to mobilize the sacroiliac joints and gently expand the rib cage to accept the growing uterus, our pregnancy massage targets low back pain, hip pain and sciatica by releasing tight gluteal muscles, tendons and ligaments. This relieves pain and improves blood flow to the lower extremities to resolve leg cramping, a common condition associated with pregnancy.
Prenatal Massage & Postnatal Massage
AromaSense Massge & Bodyworks also offers a very unique service to the pregnant client: we will train your care-givers to use Acupressure Analgesia during your labour. Your care-giver could be your husband, mother, sister, friend, midwife or partner. Learning specific Chinese Accupressure points and bodywork together assists you during labour and aids in releasing many natural endorphins.
This one hour hands-on session trains your care-giver to use acu-points on your body to relieve the pain of contractions, promote dilation and prevent radiating lumbar-sacral pain during your labour. Other points on the body are used during the second stage of labour as they aid the perineum to relax. In medical studies, 80% of pregnant women found these techniques to be very beneficial. An illustrated booklet is provided to all participants. As part of Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment, Moxi-bustion sessions prior to your delivery are also an option. This can also be discussed during your One Hour Team session.
During your Postnatal consultation, learn techniques on how to administer an Infant Massage to your new baby. Perfect for after bath time, just before naps and when your baby is fussy, Infant Massage is a wonderful bonding experience for you both. Studies have shown that babies that are massaged on a regular basis or receive gentle Reflexology sessions have improved immune systems and sleep longer during crucial growing periods.
